Employment Basic Allowances

This time, let’s take a look at how much you would be able to receive as the basic allowances per day (基本手当日額) in case you lose your job and your local Hallo Work reviewed your application of the unemployment benefit to conclude you are entitled to it.

Your basic allowance per day(Y) = your daily pay x 80%

Category 2: Your daily pay was somewhere between 5,010 yen and 12,330 yen:

Y = 0.8W – 0.3 x (W-5,101/7,320) x W

Category 3: Your daily pay was somewhere between 12,331 yen and 13,630 yen:

Y = 0.5W
